Edward Norton Ready For New York Marathon

This Sunday Edward Norton Will Be Running for Charity in the New York Marathon.

The 40 year old actor plans on raising awareness and quite a few dollars for the Maasai Wilderness Conservation Trust.

Edward got involved with the trust works to preserve healthy ecosystems in East Africa, during a trip to Kenya to climb Kilimanjaro.

Norton said: “It literally is lions and elephants and giraffes and rhinoceros and things like that there. So if there’s any ecosystem that’s under threat on the planet that everybody has a sense of connection to, it’s that one.”

If you are in New York this weekend, you just might see Edward running alongside Maasai warriors, as he has invited three of them to join him in the race. They are currently staying with him in his Manhattan apartment.

Norton said: “They like their sandals and that’s what they run in at home, but they had never run on pavement before, and so they’re debating maybe wearing Pumas.”

Norton, of course, has no plans to attempt sprinting in sandals. “I think it would destroy me,” he said.
